Adding Mailers

Often you don't need to do anything to add a new mailer - as soon as you visit the mailer manually, UltiSend will know that it's a mailer and offer to add a new account (or more) for that mailer for you - just simply accept the offer to add it (you'll be prompted to refresh the page).

Occasionally, you might be the first person to add a particular mailer in which case UltiSend won't prompt you to add it. Instead you'll need to add the mailer manually through your ViralMailProfits members area.

Changing Settings

When you add a new mailer, you'll see the settings panel for that mailer after you're prompted to refresh the page. There's one setting you must change at least (or you'll keep seeing the settings panel) - time between mailings. Even if it's not appropriate for a mailer, you must enter a dummy value other than 0.

To access the settings again for the mailer later, click on the settings icon

To find out about the different settings, watch this 2 minute video or read the rest of the page.

Settings

Include this mailer when ready

If you have mailers you don't mail, uncheck this to stop it appearing in the ready list

Login Automatically

If you want to be logged in automatically, you must enter your username and password for the mailer. This must be done from within the ViralMailProfits members area for security reasons. Go to mailers and click the edit icon.

If you make changes directly in the members area, UltiSend won't see those changes until you right-click and click "Synchronize UltiSend with your account..."

Replace firstname macro in subject

If you tend to personalise your subject lines then you'll like this feature! If this box is checked, UltiSend will replace #firstname# in your subject line template by the right macro for the mailer. If the box is unchecked then UltiSend will replace the macro by a blank - meaning you can personalise all of your subject lines, safe in the knowledge that you won't send out emails with %firstname% in the subject. Just make sure your subject lines still make sense if the macro is blanked out.

Replace firstname macro in body

This works the same as for the subject - you don't need slightly different templates for different mailers.

Allow link macro to be replaced in body

Similar to the previous two settings, this allows you to put #link# in the body and it'll either get replaced by your main URL if the box is checked or by a blank if it's unchecked.

Review data before mailer send

If you don't already know, you'll no longer press the send button on the mailer to send your mail (in fact it will be disabled on most mailers!). For UltiSend to do it's magic, you click Send Mail With UltiSend on the UltiSend toolbar - this is what does all the magic of replacing macros, creating your unique tracking link and more.

If this setting is unchecked, UltiSend will just go ahead and send through the mailer as soon as you press the UltiSend button. If the option is checked, you'll be prompted in between UltiSend doing all the macro and link replacement and it sending through the mailer and that prompt gives you three options:

You may like to keep this box checked while you get started with UltiSend so you see how it works. Later, you can uncheck it to make your sending even faster.

Disable credit updating for this mailer

UltiSend has another powerful feature - it keeps track of your credits on each mailer. So when you review your 'ready yo mail' list on UltiSend, it will show you not only which mailers are ready but how many credits you have at each one - again making your process simpler.

However, there may be mailers where credits aren't shown on the send page or any of the pages you go via to get to the send page.

If that's the case, UltiSend will keep prompting you to tell it where the credits are shown - if this bugs you you can check this box and UltiSend won't keep trying to determine the credits.

I can mail every ____ hours

This is self-explanatory. As stated here, you must enter a value > 0 here or UltiSend will keep prompting you to update the settings for the mailer.

Change settings for account x

On some mailers there will be a drop-down box above the main settings boxes. This is for those mailers where there are more than one type of mail you can send, typically random (or list) and downline. Be sure to change the settings for both accounts

FAQ

Question: why doesn't UltiSend know these settings for each mailer automatically?

Answer: Because UltiSend doesn't know what membership level you are at the mailer and often these settings depend upon your membership level.
