Sending
When you send your mail with UltiSend rather than just directly through the mailer, a lot of magic happens! So let's assume that you've got your email ready to send (either by fetching a template, entering it in manually or by copy and pasting).
As you probably already know, you should click the UltiSend send button to send your mail. In most mailers, the mailer send button will be disabled anyway to prevent you forgetting and accidentally bypassing UltiSend.
Once you hit UltiSend send, this is what happens:
- Your email and some associated data is sent to the ViralMailProfits server
- (optionally) your email is saved as a new template
- The email is added to your history ready for tracking stats to be recorded against
- A new, unique tracking link is created specifically for this send
- Macros are replaced according to the mailer and your settings
- The modified subject, email and the new link are returned to UltiSend
- UltiSend updates the mailer
- (optionally) you're given the prompt of whether to send now, send manually later or cancel
-
- Send now: UltiSend triggers the mailer to send
- Send manually: UltiSend re-enables the mailer send button so you can review and click the mailer send button when ready
- cancel: the email is deleted from your ViralMailProfits history so you can start over
- Although not a 'step', ViralMailProfits begins collecting open rate stats on your email (you can view these in the ViralMailProfits members area under history)
There are 4 main fields that UltiSend uses and/or changes so the following describes the changes in those fields between when you press UltiSend send and the mail is actually sent via the mailer...
Subject Line
Any macros will have been replaced according to your settings (see settings help) for that mailer.
Email Body
Any macros will have been replaced according to your settings (see settings help) for that mailer.
If you had a #link# macro in the body, it will be replaced by the tracking link for your main URL
URL field
If the mailer has a URL field, that URL will now have been replaced by the unique tracking link so that ViralMailProfits can track opens on your email.
Credits field
The credits field isn't changed but its value was (probably) used by ViralMailProfits to determine how many people you are sending this email to (see How Many Members Being Sent To).
